Fire at North Bridge rental block late last night where almost everything in the flat was burnt. Thank God no serious injury.

Amazing how all the agencies and grassroots came together to make a difference.

Super SCDF team ably put out the fire after evacuating residents in the block.

Jalan Besar Town Council, HDB Sims Drive, Police, Beach Road RC all turned up to support.

HDB Sims Drive Rental expediently put up our (shocked) resident in a nearby replacement rental flat.

After settling them at the new empty flat (thanks to HDB), we bought and delivered some essentials such as pails, “makan”, fan, kettle etc. for the family from a 24-hour supermarket.

We will use Central SG CDC’s Rainy Day Umbrella Fund to help with the basics.

But more will need to be done.

Once we develop a list of needs, we will seek help and help the family esp children (preparing for exams) and mom (and cat) to return to normal life ASAP.

Social service agencies like Kampong Kapor FSC and JBSSO etc are on standby.
