PASS-IT-ON! A Better Way of Doing Good

Painful to see heaps of donated used items outside the gates of a charity I often drive by.

I cannot imagine the amount of clearing, sorting, disposing of, storing and giving tasks that had to be done to clear the heaps. All in the name of sustainability.

I urge you to consider another way of passing it on.

PASS-IT-ON is one of 52 programme offerings by Central Singapore CDC, in partnership with The Helping Hand (援手之家), a non-profit that provides work for ex-offenders.

The PASS-IT-ON programme allows donors to contribute items through an online portal to benefit the needy. Donated items are then ‘matched’ to the recipients based on their needs. This can range from sofa sets to washing machines, and many more items small and large.

If you have items in good condition to bless others with, do register as a 'Pass-It-On' donor at www.passiton.org.sg

If you or someone requires a needed item, sign up in the ‘wish list’ there too.

Give only what others need. Take only what one needs.

PS: 7 Feb 8.30pm . Just got an update from PASS-IT-ON; In 2021 - 12,000 items vs beneficiaries matched

Note: May not be suitable for donors who would prefer the items be collected right away for free.
