#StrongerTogether - Looking out for our residents

Update on 25/4/20: The earlier video on Mr L is still being sent around, but do be assured that 'Mr L' has been receiving assistance from numerous social service organisations over the years , including free daily meals. This is one of the many cases that our social workers have been working on, on a daily basis, even during this pandemic period. Let us stay united and cheer for our Frontline workers! #SGUnited #WeAreOneFamily!

You can view MSF’s sharing here as well.

Update on 13/4/20: BIG THANKS to everyone who has shown concern for resident Mr L featured in a video elsewhere. https://mothership.sg/2020/04/man-asks-for-food-beach-road/ (Update on 13/4/20 by Mothership.sg )

Mr L is known to the local PeaceConnect seniors centre; Jalan Besar SSO; KK FSC; the local Catholic Church, grassroots volunteers and I. Please forgive me if his personal issues are not shared here. Sometimes there is more than meets the eye.

It’s hard for the social workers to find him at his flat normally because he is often not at home. Mr L did not collect his daily meals at Beach Road LoveConnect Hub today. But his social worker found him nearby and was bringing him personally to SSO to help him in his latest need.

Especially for such a time as this, your support for those at risk is deeply appreciated so thanks again! I seek too, your encouragement for all our frontline social workers and officers, especially at SSOs and CCs, many of whom are working round the clock to process COVID-19-related help measures. We can only be #StrongerTogether.

Keep safe and well.

If you do meet Mr L again or others in need in future, please do call the Comcare hotline immediately at 1-800-222-0000, PM me or any local MPs, or do something for him immediately like offering him a mask and taking him to the nearest SSO.
