This is the farewell photo taken early this year after the last meeting of the former Government Parliamentary Committee (Education) I was chairing.

Many members have left for various reasons - left politics, or joined another GPC.

We had a good run - a lot of debates and discussions during our GPC meetings.

I’m not sure my comments were always welcomed by MOE but I know they were considered.

The new Chairman is Patrick Tay with Darryl David as Vice Chairman - whom I know will do their part with wisdom and courage.

There’s still much to do for education for the future and to ensure those at risk do not fall behind further - e.g. our students with special learning needs and those from lower-income households.

For their sake, I am still sticking around.
