Progressing towards Inclusion!

A Professor Brawn staff delivering my ordered lunch to me in the school I volunteer in. I am elated because it is a dream come true.

Many years ago, I followed and video-recorded a special-needs school cafe worker who was delivering food to one of the lecturers in an overseas education village. The village co-located a special school and 2 other mainstream schools.

It was inclusivity at the best I saw, both in spirit and in operation. The cafe was run by the special school and full of buzz and energy.

I remember telling Yeok Lin, an Education Psychologist who was with me - how nice it would be if we see this in Singapore - staff with ‘disabilities’ doing good work in an inclusive setting. Hence, my elation in this photo. Joy unspeakable.
