Let's continue to support all persons with special needs/disabilities
It is very tough for many persons with special needs/disabilities when they have to undergo COVID-19 procedures such as swabbing, vaccination, quarantine; which are unfamiliar and daunting. And for good reasons.
The recently shared caregiver experiences by mom Cindy Chee from Friends of ASD Families; and sister Amylia Koh, have struck a chord with many of us.
MOH has worked on the inputs and actively looked into the support and training needed on the ground.
Many parties who care are also helping to make things better by offering resources and time; such as SG Enable, NCSS, Caring.sg (Dr Lim Hong Huay), IMH (Dr Sung Min) amongst several others.
The only way to predict a better future is to create it, together.
Let us continue to support all persons with special needs/disabilities. Their challenges are not easy to overcome but do, we must. We are all part of the larger Singapore family and the even larger human race.
Let us also support our healthcare teams and other front-liners too as they serve Singapore daily, at such a time as this. They too are learning like our special ones to respond better to unfamiliar territories.
Here’s the message by MOH’s rep for this issue, Parliamentary Secretary Rahayu Mahzam.
Have a blessed day.
