Making Star out of our Young Residents
So happy for our kids.
Making stars out of our young residents is the purpose of the JUNIOR STARS programme that StarHub and our Central CDC just launched.
Not every kid gets to go to good holiday enrichment classes during the school holidays. And in this time and age of fast tech changes, even kids need to develop skills for the future.
Hence I’m really grateful to partner with StarHub to curate and start holiday classes such as entrepreneurship, food sustainability, speaking up for causes, virtual reality creation etc.
Target? About 1,400 juniors who might be a tad disadvantaged. Our effort to try to level the playing field in our circle of influence.
StarHub is one of the businesses with heart whom we serve with, who continue a long-term (not once-off) partnership to serve the ground; and narrow some of the gaps our CDC sees at ground level.
Will continue to look for more corporate sponsors to continue to support our many juniors in the district. Not to replace what MOE does but to complement their efforts.
One day, just one day, I hope we can expose those who’ve never gone overseas to travel when it’s safer and we find enough sponsors.
Thank you, Central Singapore Community Development Council - CDC, Saktiandi Supaat - local beloved MP where Junior Stars has launched this week and the StarHub team - Big Thanks!
