New Future, New Skills!
Jobs and being job-ready are big for me because of my strong belief and a past career in learning and development.
Ideally, people should be able to choose to work for as long as they wish to.
And most of us can do so if we are avid lifelong learners and have the relevant marketable skills.
Hence, the push by my CDC team and I to support the SkillsFuture movement, in my role as mayor.
We organise plenty of free SkillsFuture Advice workshops throughout the year; and partner folks like IMDA, E2i, and education institutions.
New future, new skills, as they say!
Last week about 130 residents learned about the latest workforce trend at our SkillsFuture workshop in Ang Mo Kio.
Organised by our Central Singapore CDC and Teck Ghee Community Club, it covered SkillsFuture Advice AND a taster to Data Analysis with Python.
The workshop, held in partnership with e2i and Nanyang Polytechnic, also touched on emerging skills and the analytics space.
Watch this space for more SkillsFuture content – with updated skills, you will have more choices on how and how long you wish to work.
