Significance of Education

EDUCATION IS VERY CLOSE TO MY HEART.

I used to own and run a training and consulting firm; worked overseas and locally in HR; and co-found and help run special schools.

Over the years, I have made many speeches in parliament on the future of education and schools.

My 28 past speeches touched on topics such as through-train schools, removal of PSLE, the Education MasterPlan, the Tuition Syndrome, and lifelong learning (SkillsFuture included).

Having served in the special needs sector as a volunteer even before joining Parliament, I’ve also focused strongly on the support for students with special needs in mainstream and special schools.

At this year’s budget Committee of Supplies, I spoke on the ‘Future of Education’ and ‘Students with Special Educational Needs’ offering some further suggestions for MOE.
