Singapore Hospice Council Grief and Bereavement Conference

“Singapore can be a better place to not just have babies, live , work and play ; but also when families age and take their most important final journeys of life” is the message from 25 members of the Singapore Hospice Council.

I’m so glad to be the GOH of the dynamic Council’s 3rd Grief and Bereavement Conference - where local and overseas experts share how Singaporeans and their loved ones can better navigate the journey of illness, dying, death, grief and bereavement.

Together we also launched the new initiative, Compassionate Communities Singapore- - a fitting reminder of our collective responsibility to nurture a compassionate society, in a super aging era. .

I personally went through the process when I saw my late mother transform from a vibrant feisty Hakka woman to one who relied totally on others for all her needs; due to Alzheimer’s Disease.

In my central district , I witnessed the amazing love and professionalism by the healthcare and hospice community at places like Dover Park Hospice and Assisi Hospice.

Hence, my respect and appreciation for this movement. Thank you and well done!
