Swearing-In Ceremony of PM Lawrence Wong

The making of PM Lawrence Wong is proof of the uniqueness of the Singapore story.

Whether one is the son of a prime minister or of a chef, there’s a chance to make it to the top political office in our precious nation.

PM Lawrence’s story resonates with me. I too, like several of my fellow MPs, came from a less than wealthy background.

I’m happy to be one of the 1,300 on-site and thousands online who witnessed the handover of the baton from PM Lee Hsien Loong to PM Wong last night.

A peaceful handover that is so responsibly planned.

Uniquely Singapore and I’m proud of it.
