Visit to Ensign InfoSecurity
So happy to meet Daryl who is now working in Ensign InfoSecurity firm as an analyst. So happy to see him so happy and cheerful when I visited Ensign yesterday.
Daryl is part of Ensign's Workforce Neurodiversity programme - an outcome of the big idea of inclusive hiring of Temasek Group's Chief Dilhan, Shawn Huang, Zai Shao; Ensign's CIO Steven Ng, CEO Tammie Tham, and teammates. ARC or Autism Resource Centre's Employment Centre E2C provides the autism specialist and job coaching framework and support.
There are exciting plans to train and create more jobs like Daryl's.
Work is part of life. Work allows one to contribute where one can; and when it is paid, provides livelihood and financial independence.
Folks like Daryl and other talents like him are blessed to be able to find the right job fit and employer fit.
Not all folks who are different get a shot at work. It will take a village to develop as many work opportunities as possible.
BIG THANKS to all who believe that if given the right training and support, people who are different can work and contribute.
PS1 : Ensign is a Singapore-bred pure-play cybersecurity services company; and an important part of Singapore's offerings to meet the cybersecurity needs of both local and regional clients.
PS 2 : A relatively new term, neurodivergent means someone who thinks, experiences and interpret the world in unique ways, differently from the way the majority (referred to as 'neurotypical' ) expect. Neurodiversity is what it says, diverse, not deficit.
