ArtsEverywhere@CDC @ Toa Payoh Hub Atrium
Another interesting offering for residents in Central District!
This weekend, my Central Singapore CDC team hosted our first session of ArtsEverywhere@CDC - this round at Toa Payoh Hub Atrium. I’m so glad fellow advisors like Gan Siow Huang and Saktiandi Supaat could come with their Bishan-Toa Payoh residents.
ArtsEverywhere@CDC is a project started by the 5 CDCs and the National Art Council to bring arts to the people and support arts groups. The first art group to perform in this series was yIN Harmony music group, which celebrated Singapore’s diverse cultural musical heritage. Central Singapore CDC also partnered with PlayPan to start The Creator Market!
PlayPan is a social experiment started by Gary Hong and Yvonne Siow - a pacemaker and community maker to do good through “play for good.” We’ve been doing stuff together for quite a while. The Creator Market gathers mainly youths and young adults to bring arts workshops, unique art installations, street art, and crafts to this ArtsEverywhere@CDC platform.
A huge thank you to yIN Harmony, PlayPan, and all our partners for making the arts accessible by bringing quality art performances, workshops, and activities to the heartlands, right to the doorsteps of residents. This is just the first ArtsEverywhere event, so do look out for the upcoming events and join us!
