Going Clean and Green!
Glad to have our Central CDC host the launch of the annual Clean & Green Singapore (CGS) 2022 earlier today.
And doing this with leaders from other parts of Singapore like DPM Swee Keat; Min Grace Fu and others come along.
Co-organised with the National Environment Agency (NEA); MSE; NParks and plenty others at Eunoia Junior College and the lovely AMK-Bishan Park.
Even before today, many GRCs and constituencies had already organised a series of ground-up activities.
NParks said >400k trees are now planted, ahead of the 1 million target in 2030. Recycling stations; community gardens; sustainability films; food rescue regulars are sprouting up all over our beloved island - thanks to so many passionate in the sustainability movement.
In Central Singapore, we, too, strongly believe in this cause. And doing our best to help create a sustainable, green and zero-waste district throughout our 23 divisions.
Three of our key district-level programmes include:
Better Environment @ Central initiative – these include workshops and learning journeys to encourage Singaporeans to adopt a sustainable, zero-waste lifestyle. Are you familiar with the new 6Rs? Refuse, reduce, reuse, repair, repurpose, and recycle.
“Pass-it-On” initiative – an online portal that connects givers to beneficiaries by allowing them to donate pre-loved items in good condition.
Green Action for Communities Workshops – co-organised with the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE).
It only takes a spark to get a fire going – come, be that spark for a cleaner and greener Singapore.
